Christ Gospel Church

Vision

The Vision:

A vision is an inspirational experience, and our pastors have been inspired by God to pursue excellence in ministry. It is our vision to encourage each Believer to put on the whole armour of God and be ready to share their testimony with other hungry souls. Because the need is varied and overwhelming, we insist that each person be equipped mentally, morally, socially, and spiritually in order to be able to rightly divide the Word of God as well as present the gospel in a wholesome and inviting manner. We are pursuing excellence in the following areas:

  • A Praying Church
  • A Friendly Church
  • A Tithing Church
  • A Giving Church
  • An Anointed Church
  • Media/Resource Center
  • A Senior Citizen Center
  • Kid’s City
  • Family Life Center
  • Christian Education Resource Center

“GAFS” – Good and Faithful Servants

2012 Theme for CGC – Fayetteville, NC

Matthew 25: 14 – 30

Many times, when we preach this lesson, the focus is placed on either the number of talents or the slothful servant. I want to take time and place more emphasis on the word “GOOD”. Since our theme for 2012 is GAFS – Good and Faithful Servants, we need to understand what it truly means to be a good and faithful servant.

First – all three servants were in the Master’s House.

Second – they were given talents (goods) based on their ability to toil, labor and minister (that is the meaning of the word “traded” in the scripture).

Thirdly – each gave an account at the Master’s return

The Master said to the first two “Well done, good and faithful servant.” We do not have an issue with being faithful. This term is readily understood among the Christian world. However, it is the “good” part that is tripping up many believers.

Good is “tobe” and it means to be happy, well off, and prosperous. We are executing one half of the call by being faithful. The other half is being good – happy and prosperous for the kingdom of God.

I have seen too many faithful marriages that are anything but happy and prosperous for the Kingdom of God. I have seen too many faithful ministers and workers in the church who are not happy and well off. I have seen too many faithful employers (and employees) who are anything but happy. It is high time to change that image in the Christian faith.

This year, let’s make it our business to be prosperous for the kingdom while we are faithfully doing kingdom work. Be happy while you are faithful. Be a “GAFS”
